During a little painting and remodeling at the Legion, we came across documents over 100 years old. These included the original documentation of the start-up of our Legion as well as the Auxiliary, along with the signed charter membership documentation. Special thanks to Tom Benda for getting them framed up correctly, which includes UV protectant glass to ensure these historic documents continue to stand the test of time and for all to view.
Not pictured, we also found the original death notices of our namesakes from 1918 signed by John Pershing, Commander in Chief of the US Armies of WWI. They will be properly framed and displayed as well. This discovery is all part of the Center Point Legion's focus on bringing back some of our history, uniting the community, and increasing involvement with the community.
