Mike Wiggins

September 2025

Mike Wiggins graduated from Center Point High School in 1973 and joined the US Marines Corps. He shipped out to San Diego for basic training. After basic he went to Camp Pendleton for training on the 105mm Howitzer and how to be an artillery man. From there he was stationed in Hawaii for 2 years. Twice while he was there his unit packed up with orders to go to Vietnam. After waiting on the flight line for 4 hours each time they canceled those orders and the unit never went. From there he went back to Camp Pendleton for about a year and left the Marines as an E-4. He moved back to the area getting a job at Corn Sweetners. After a couple years there Mike and his brother took off an entire summer and toured around the Western US on their motorcycles. They made their way home and Mike started working for RJ Building Projects. In 1988 he took a job at Penford Products and worked there for 27 years! During that time he also served on the Center Point Fire Department for 20 years. He’s been married to his wife, Kim, for 41 years and they have 3 sons, two of which are in the Navy and Air Force reserves. Today Mike and Kim enjoy riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle and driving around in there Dodge Challenger. Thank you Mike for your service to the country and the local community!
