I would like to announce the June Veteran of the Month, Mr Jim Nemecek. With him living off Main Street, don't feel bad if you want to give a honk when you drive by and see the sign .... I may have just thrown that in.
Mr Nemecek served in the Army 1968-1970. He was a Tank Retriever.... Okay let that sink in, cause I know for a fact I wouldn't want to be out and about retrieving tanks. I'm sure it was hard enough working on them but tanks don't get stuck, stranded or break down just for the heck of it. They sure are not going to be in a pleasant environment when that happens either. Thank you for all you did Jim.
Returning home he went to work for National Oats for a while then got into construction work. Construction is what he retired in, working hard just came natural.
Jim has a couple hobbies, one of which is making up stories, and of course by that I mean he enjoys fishing. Let's be honest, never meant someone that loves fishing and doesn't spin the yarn a little bit. I do . Jim also enjoys restoring old cars... So if you see some black marks getting laid down around town from a classic hotrod, it may or may not be Jim at the wheel.
Jim would like to share one simple piece of advice:
"Think before you act"
That is something we all could do more of at times, regardless of who you are.
Please join me and thank Mr Jim Nemecek as our June Veteran of the Month!
Thank you
