Jeff & Heather McArthur

August 2024

It’s special this time because you’re all getting two for the price of one again. So with that let me introduce you to Jeff and Heather McArthur!! Let’s start with Jeff. He is from Center Point and graduated in the last class of Center Point High School in 1989. After school he joined the Marine Corps and went off to San Diego CA for basic training. There he earned the right to be called a Marine and moved on to Camp Pendleton for combat training and school of infantry. Then he went on to Vallejo CA for Security Forces training and finally on to Bangor submarine base on the NW coast of Washington. After 2 years there he was transferred back to Camp Pendleton where he was assigned to 2nd Battalion 5th Marines and became the units driving instructor, teaching new recruits the ins and outs of driving Marine vehicles. Jeff served 4 years in the Marines and found his calling driving trucks. This led him a career trucking after the service. He’s worked for Nash Finch, XPO and currently driving for Dayton Freight. Now let’s move on to Jeff’s better half.

Heather grew up in Grass Valley CA which is in Northern CA near Tahoe. She joined the Navy in 1996 and went to basic training at Great Lakes Naval Station. From there she went to her technical school in Memphis TN where she was trained to be a parachute rigger packing chutes for pilots in case they needed to eject out of their aircraft. After learning her job she was stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station. A few weeks after getting to her duty station she was sent out to meet her ship, the USS Kittyhawk. She was on that ship for 6 months traveling all over the Pacific Ocean. Heather separated for the Navy in 1997. Jeff and Heather met in an online chat room shortly after her separation from Navy and were married in 2000. They have 2 sons and a granddaughter. Heather now has one of the toughest jobs of all, a stay at home mom! Not only did they both serve this great nation they both served this great community by being on the volunteer fire department and ambulance service for a few years. Everyone please congratulate these two if you see them out and about.
