Mr Brent Schmitz

Brent served in the IANG for 12 years, 2002-2015. Deploying to Iraq and Kosovo. Brent was in aviation, mostly in helicopter maintenance and crew chief, he was a Tango for those that know the community. Worked up into the QC department as time went on.

Interesting sidenote we served in basically the same unit, know a few of the same people, I was on my way out when he was on his way in. Little small world story there. So we talked about that more than anything

Brent and his wife Katie, who is a member of our Auxiliary, have 2 children, if I remember correctly going to be in grades 7 and 9 this fall. Needless to say like most, the kids keep them very busy, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Brent is an avid outdoorsman and really enjoys fishing. Which probably translates into not being able to read a tape measure too well. At least all the other fishermen I know are like that. Seems like anything over 16 inches gets 2-5 inch adders to it. Of course I'm kidding.

Please help me, the Legion and the community and welcoming Brent to our Legion and most importantly thanking him for his service and being our July Veteran of the Month.
