AJ Zuck

Help me honor AJ Zuck! AJ graduated from Center Point-Urbana in 2009 and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2010. He was following in his grandfather’s footsteps and a couple friends that had also enlisted. After enlisting he headed off to boot camp at Camp Pendleton CA. After finishing he was off to truck/vehicle driver training in Ft Leonard Wood MO. There he was trained on driving almost every truck or vehicle the Marines used. After months of training there he was shipped off to his home base which was back to Camp Pendleton CA where he joined his unit and started getting ready for his deployment to Afghanistan. His unit shipped out in 2011 and spent 7 months in Afghanistan running convoys full of supplies to bases all over the country. While there his driving skills got him selected to drive for the units Gunnery Sergeant in a mine sweeper truck. After his return home to California he decided he wasn’t going to reenlist and wanted to get out to finish his degree and run his own business. So the rest of time he spent at the gun range helping train soldiers. He seperated from the Marines as an E-4. After coming back to Iowa he followed up on his dreams by getting his Associates degree from Kirkwood and then his Bachelor’s from University Iowa. For the last 5 years he’s run his own business “Prime Lawn Maintenance”. He’s been married for 5 years has 3 kids and loves hunting and fishing and helping out the legion with events.
